Engineering excellence at Offshore Europe 2015

  • 26 Aug 2015

SPP Pumps, a world leader in the design and manufacture of pumping equipment for both onshore and offshore applications, will be exhibiting at Offshore Europe 2015 (September 8-11th) in Aberdeen, showcasing its API pump range and specialist Engineering Services.

Located within the Energy Industries Council (EIC) Pavilion on stand number 3B41, the SPP exhibit will focus on its range of API pumps and specialist Engineering Services - both of which are major contributors to the company’s global reputation as a trusted uptime champion, both upstream in exploration and production and downstream for petrochemical and chemical processes.

SPP’s Engineering Services division offers the highest level of technical expertise to deliver maximum uptime to the oil and gas industry, via its dedicated industry specialist teams. The range of technical excellence includes energy audits, pump and valve refurbishment, offshore capabilities, fixed fire protection, 3D printing and hydraulic modelling.

SPP’s five UK service centres located throughout the UK, including one in Cumbernauld, are all certified to ISO 9001:2008 and offer computer fluid dynamics, re-engineering and 3D sand-casting, coatings, material upgrades, re-rating and testing.

Stand 3B41 will feature one of the next generation laser scanning arms, which, with a single point accuracy of plus/minus 0.024mm is part of SPP Engineering’s arsenal of remodelling equipment. Also on the stand will be a cut-sectioned pump showing exactly what can be achieved by SPP’s refurbishment team in a before-and-after demonstration.

Nick Hancock is Head of Engineering Services at SPP Pumps. He comments: “Offshore Europe is a great hub for the oil and gas industry here in the UK and beyond - it’s always a great place to hold conversations with our existing customers and also visitors who are maybe not aware that, in addition to the manufacturing side of our business, we offer exceptional engineering services implemented by one of the finest teams of offshore pump engineers anywhere in the world, backed by our five service centres.

“We are genuinely proud of our global reputation as it represents recognition both of the investment and research that goes into the division but also our technical knowledge, developed through many decades of working in what constitutes some of the most challenging working conditions in the world both for men and machinery.”
